The Energy Conservation Benchmark Award is a recognized evaluation framework that assesses organizations through a multi-stage review process, covering energy strategy planning, execution methods, data monitoring, and overall performance outcomes. This recognition reflects TIENKANG’s establishment of a systematic, traceable, and continuously optimizable energy management foundation.
A Long-Term, Systematic Approach—Not a One-Time Project
TIENKANG’s energy management journey began in April 2023 with the formal launch of a company-wide energy management initiative. Rather than adopting short-term or isolated improvement projects, TIENKANG chose a long-term, system-driven approach, supported by monthly review mechanisms, cross-department collaboration, and ongoing refinement of improvement priorities.
Throughout this process, the team addressed challenges including energy data consolidation, prioritization of improvement actions, and verification of implementation results. These efforts enabled TIENKANG to build an energy management model that is repeatable, measurable, and sustainable over time.
AI-Based Energy Management and Renewable Energy Deployment
At the factory level, TIENKANG implemented an energy management platform combined with AI-based energy monitoring systems in 2023. The system currently covers approximately 70% of facility monitoring points and integrates smart lighting and HVAC optimization, enabling real-time visibility and continuous improvement of energy efficiency.
In parallel, TIENKANG has deployed a phased on-site solar power generation system. With Phase I and Phase II combined, the system generates approximately 540,000 kWh annually, operating under a self-consumption model. As a result, renewable energy now accounts for 54% of total electricity usage (RE54), strengthening energy resilience while reducing reliance on external energy sources.

This achievement reflects the sustained efforts of TIENKANG’s cross-functional teams, supported by external professional consultants who provided structured guidance at critical stages of implementation. TIENKANG also acknowledges the contributions of its suppliers and partners, who collaborated closely to test, adjust, and advance energy-saving initiatives through mutual trust and alignment.

From Management Discipline to Customer-Ready Manufacturing Technology
For TIENKANG, sustainability extends beyond internal operations. It must also be reflected in whether production equipment can help customers reduce energy consumption, labor requirements, and operational risk, while maintaining stable and efficient output.
Applying the same energy optimization logic to equipment development, TIENKANG integrates its energy management experience directly into machine design. A key example is the GENTREX supercritical foaming injection molding technology, which enables one-step sole molding, significantly reducing repetitive heating processes and manual labor.
Based on validated operational data, a single GENTREX machine can reduce annual electricity consumption by approximately 159.14 kWh, equivalent to the energy usage of a gasoline vehicle traveling 172.3 kilometers, while achieving an estimated 6.4 metric tons of CO₂ emission reduction per year—comparable to the carbon absorption of approximately 108,000 trees.
By embedding energy efficiency directly into process and machine design, TIENKANG transforms sustainability from a management objective into a quantifiable, production-ready manufacturing capability—supporting global footwear manufacturers in balancing productivity, quality, and sustainability requirements.
